Redeem your key on setup.office.com, install the suite and activate it online or by phone. If a key refuses to activate, the last guide clears the leftover keys that usually cause it.

Office 2013 was the first release you redeem on setup.office.com and download from your Microsoft account, which is why installing it needs an account even when the key came in an email. Its support ended in April 2023. Note that its activation files live in an Office15 folder, not Office16, which matters if you ever need the command line to clear a stuck key.
